The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act targets investments towards key areas that will save or create good jobs immediately, while also laying the groundwork for long-term economic growth. The charts and numbers below give you an idea of where the money is going.

Over the upcoming months, Recovery.gov will provide more information on the distribution of funding by Federal agencies. In order to give small businesses and Americans across the country a chance to apply for recovery dollars to create and save jobs, some funding may not be distributed until this summer. New information on the allocation of funds will be posted on Recovery.gov as it becomes available.

Or, will all the House Republican members please move to the sideline so the grownups can get to work.

There has been more than a little press about the recent ‘stimulus package’ vote in the House. The bill passed 244 -188 with no Republicans voting in favor of the bill (that’s zero, zilch ,nada) Imagine that ! Every time you hear or read this story in the press I want you to think about a few things.

First, politically speaking, there is very little tangible benefit for House Republicans to support President Obama’s stimulus bill. If the country gets better the President will get most of the credit and about all the Republicans would get is the satisfaction of doing the right thing and a ‘thank you’ from a grateful nation. One might think that would be enough for the Country First crowd. But no, not a chance. John Boehner and the rest of the House Republicans will be sitting at the sidelines whining about not getting enough tax cuts for their rich benefactors.

I say let them pout. If they want to help, great. If not, please sit down and stay out of the way. Most of these neocon sock puppets aren’t qualified to help anyway. We have some hard times ahead of us. The financial crisis is probably a lot deeper than we’re being lead to believe. We simply can not afford anymore Republican nonsense.

Remember the economy was front and center during the last election and the country choose Barack Obama and a lot of new Dems in congress to manage the recovery. It was a complete and utter rejection of the Republican economic philosophy. Why in the world would we want to engage the Republicans who would revert us back to the very same policies that took us from budget surpluses to economic disaster in just eight years ? Why would we want to do that ??

So while the press yacks about lack of bipartisan support, blah blah blah… And the neocon Rush Limbaugh sock puppet Republicans start with their yada yada yada… Remember it is the Republicans who turned their backs on Main Street. Remember it was GW and the Republican Hoard in Congress who lead us down their road to ruin. Remember Republicans ARE the problem not the solution !
